NCS Begins High School Principal Search
Dear NCS Family:
When it comes to school related factors influencing academic achievement, research suggests that the role of the principal is exceeded only by the quality of teachers working directly with students. With this in mind, we will be conducting a thorough search for our next Naples High School Principal as Mrs. Ashton prepares for her new position as the Superintendent of the Honeoye Central School District.
To help guide our hiring process, we will be putting together a leadership profile for our next High School Principal. If you have a free minute in the days ahead, I am hoping that you might consider taking this brief survey to share the qualities you believe are most important for the position.

Principal Ashton Selected as Next Honeoye Superintendent
Dear NCS Family:
As you may know, earlier today, Mrs. Bridget Ashton was announced as the new Superintendent of the Honeoye Central School District. Mrs. Ashton has been our High School Principal for the past three and a half years, and our neighboring Bulldogs could not have made a better choice in their selection of Chief School Officer.
However, when Mrs. Ashton begins her new position on January 1, 2020, she will be leaving some impossibly big shoes to fill. During her time in Naples, Mrs. Ashton has been a tireless advocate for students, and we will deeply miss her energy and passion here at NCS.
In the weeks ahead, I will pass along important updates regarding our High School Principal search as well as information on how stakeholders can provide input in the hiring process. ...

New Faces in Naples: Ms. Sarah Williams
Dear Naples School Community:
After extensively studying student performance, the researcher and policy expert Eric Hanushek found that “the difference between being taught by a highly capable and a less than capable teacher can translate into a full grade level of achievement in a single school year.” Fortunately for us, the Naples Central School District has always been home to an incredible group of educators.
As we prepare for the start of the 2019-2020 school year, I wanted to introduce many of the new faces you will see in our buildings by passing along information through our website and social media accounts. We are thrilled that Ms. Sarah Williams will be joining our school family, and I would invite you to help us welcome her to Naples this fall.

Update on Pearson Data Breach
Dear NCS Parents and Staff:
As you may already be aware, Pearson PLC recently notified customers of a data breach involving AIMSweb 1.0—its popular software tool used to assess the reading and math skills of students in grades UPK-12. Yesterday, we learned that the security incident had exposed the first names, last names, and in some instances, the dates of birth connected with certain students and staff members at NCS.
While it is our understanding that the information has not been misused in any way, we wanted to make you aware of the incident. In addition, we also wanted to assure you that we take the issue of data privacy and security very seriously in Naples. Our team has extensive training in protecting sensitive student and staff information, and our systems have many ...
